That is me getting a seawater spatini manicure and just indulging in one of many treatments being offered at the oceanfront rooftop at Gurney’s Resort & Spa at the 4th annual Spatini cocktail party. I like to refer to Spatini as a carnival… or “carnevale” rather… of spa, beauty and wellness. I remember planning the first one with Candice Monte, the Spa Director, when I managed the Ocean View Salon at Gurneys, who wanted to have a fun party and I thought by giving it the name “Spatini” was just perfect for the scenic ambiance Gurney’s eludes. This event allows vacationers and local socialites to experience the thalssotherapy services offered overall in the Seawater Spa. Gurney’s is the only authentic Thalassotherapy center in the United States, offering many healing marine organic therapies from the sea… I’m sure you can imagine how unique this type of spa cocktail party is!
Now, 4 years later it’s still such a tranquil event that guests look forward to attending every July in Montauk. The traditional “Spatini” Cocktail comes in a mini martini glass and is the cool shade of Caribbean blue and mixed with Tito’s delicious homemade vodka and lots of other guava delicious ingredients. Similar to the semi-annual Spa Soiree which is actual industry networking event, still mixed with socialites, but to prepare spa-goers and seasoned spa professionals for the nationally recognized “Spa Week” , Spatini does attract many industry professionals to explore the Thalasso fun. Spa Technologies, Phytomer and Moroccan Oil are just some of the many sponsors who provided treatments, prizes and giveaways at the event.
Services such as chair massages, reflexology, eyelash applications, hair services, manicures and so much more were offered along with delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. We look forward to the 5 year anniversay next year which should go out with a BANG!~
