With this, she has been able to make appearances on news interviews, radio segments and landing spots on news and reality TV with content all derived around spa, beauty and wellness….It’s always been cumbersome to define what she really does because she just loves it all, but waxing and facials is her core skill that spearheaded her future!

Laura evolved working in the most affluent areas of Westchester and Fairfield Counties, to midtown Manhattan, to the East End of the Hamptons where she has built her foundation. Laura spent seven years working for the family that founded Equinox Fitness Club & Spa as Senior Aesthetician. She obtained the largest clientele for waxing and facials in Westchester by the age of 22, managing treatment services regionally. This was before medical spa’s and laser centers were at all popular. Laura had migrated back to Equinox in November 2018 as a Regional Director, overseeing the spa’s in Florida.
She founded her signature The Sport Facial where she targets the skin conditions that arise depending on the particular sport played. Her limited clientele consists of major league professional athletes in the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, martial arts, personal trainers, sports agents and team family members. Laura’s expertise in the area of waxing is educating her peers in spa’s & her students in beauty schools on corrective brow shaping, threading and Brazilian waxing “design art” on women, spa business and facials. Laura has studied several types of waxing techniques which includes working solo with the most successful pioneers of these trades. She even spent one full year working with several barber shop accounts, making special “pop-up” appearances doing brow shaping on the men that visited. Laura has additionally directed a continuing education program for top students at the Westchester School of Beauty Culture. Laura has been considered an expert in the Aesthetic field by her superiors.
Being curious about the business side of working within the spa as well as the hospitality industry, Laura made several visits to experience the different concepts of the hotels on the Las Vegas strip. She left the field of Aesthetics, handing her clientele to her Aesthetics instructor from the Westchester School Of Beauty Culture and went off to managing, The Plaza Spa in The Plaza Hotel, before it’s closing for renovations in 2005. Being exposed to working with royal families, old-time celebrities and learning the etiquette of this landmark, Laura was given the first-class experience that cannot be taught. It was a first class spa management experience and the beginning of her training grounds.
At 26 years old, Laura had started a consulting company, Westchester Spa, Inc where she was asked to take over an existing fitness center spa in Southampton for one year as well as developing the ground level stages of a 24 hour spa and fitness experiment in Westchester until its opening day. Laura additionally worked with several other spa and fitness entities in New York where she integrated esthetics services to a well established massage therapy menu of treatments. She explored internet opportunities such as an online spa directory, where she received her name, THE WIZARD OF SPA from advisors of her local bank who found her career to be unique and entertaining. It stuck with her and so did her passion for developing start-up spa entities as well as suffering spa facilities that needed a facelift. She worked with investors, vendors and skilled trade professionals.
Making her way living permanently in the Hamptons, Laura worked in the largest destination spa in New York which is considered the only authentic marine Thalasso center in the United States, managing The Ocean View Salon at Gurneys Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, in Montauk NY. Laura is very grateful to the innkeepers of the original ‘Gurney’s Inn’ who gave her a blank canvas to fulfill the dreams she had in developing creative and profitable treatments within a professional and luxurious environment. Having a desk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was the added bonus! She may not have made a salary of a Wall Street CEO, but she certainly had a better view!
After almost two decades living on the East End, Laura relocated to Miami where she became the Director of Spa, Wellness and Retail at Delano Hotel and contributed her efforts to the SLS Hotels.
Laura spent ten years as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Tourette Syndrome Association before expanding her ideas into something she can call her own: THE WIZARD OF SPA FOUNDATION-This charitable organization provides gifts of wellness to those suffering from diagnosed disorders effecting the central nervous system, to decrease side effects through natural therapies and professional guidance. It is the “Foundation for Relaxation” and has expanded it’s contributions to support worthy causes.
Laura enjoys her quality time with family. She loves traveling to palm trees and sunshine, of course not without a visit to the spa. Laura is a local socialite within the Hamptons community and loves visiting the seasonal art gallery openings, polo events, and charitable benefits for good cause – but equally enjoys her alone time very much.
