Welcome! Welcome! Summer has arrived once again and we have much to discuss! The newest boutiques and most historical shops have been preparing their décor and window merchandising for your shopping experience while our beaches have been tailored by mother nature for hours of vitamin D absorption. Let’s not forget the end less choices of cuisine, hundreds of out-door day events and nightlife galore! All the active socialite and event oxic to his or her well being. While you enjoy the fruits of your labor, keep in mind that you must balance this lifestyle through exercise, eating properly, relaxation and of course lots and lots of sun protection! Otherwise, I welcome you to the spa experience when the clouds roll in…
I welcome you to summer in the Hamptons!
There are over two hundredspa and beauty entities at your service from Westhampton to Montauk .But there is only one stop in the Hamptons, and only one place in New York, that can truly offer to you and your guests the Mecca of an experience. The Ocean View Salon in The Seawater Spa at Gurney’s Inn begins at THE END. Montauk THE END that is. With breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean waves crashing it’s no wonderthe salon has “ocean view” manicures and pedicures avail- able to you, followed by Hot Sea Shell mani’s and Pedi’s for the ultimate experience. With the unlimited bridal and special occasion group retreats hosted, surely you are in qualified hands for face makeupand airbrushing application! Deep conditioning and Peppermint Eucalyptus scalp treatments are a favorite among both men and women. Let’snot forget the many Estheticians offeringfiftyandseventy minute treat- mentsincludingthe infamousOxygen RejuvenationFacial. Wordscannot express the feeling oflastseasons fla- vored martini’s being masked out of your pores then the mister cleanest of skinblasted with Vitamin C,seaweed extracts, antioxidants and pure liquid oxygen hydration. Oooo lalaaa!
I will also stop here for a moment to mention that Iam the proud new Salon Director of th eOcean ViewSalon at Gurney’s .I am extra excited to write what I feel and am flabbergasted to see how far the spa business evolved over the last ten years. What an amazing and welcoming group of talented gems I have attracted in to my life and I could not be happier to be doing what I do best!
All of this in one setting does no justice to the other dozens of thousands of square footage this ultra luxury establishment covers. Candice Monte, Director of Spa at Gurney’s is the umbrella who oversees every aspect of the
spa newsletter she writes monthly, plus lounge and pool amenities. For the amount of bridal and group retreats hosted at Gurney’s, Candice custom handles all of these events from start to finish and I must says he has quite a routine! Oh, she also manages to incorporate a few personal training sessions and teach group fitness classes in between .I hope I am not leaving anything out! She pretty much does it all. This is one cumbersome multitasking career and certainly Candice is the right individual to hold the throne at Gurney’s. Last week a spa member called her a “machine”!
Since Gurney’s is the country’s only true Thalassotherapy center, every product uses ingredients from the sea.The heated indoor seawater pool overlooking the beach is filtered seawater from our beachfront oasis. The most advanced massage therapists around perform body therapies, thalasso treatments and mas sagesin the Seawater Spa. The Montauk Hot Stone Massage or a relaxing spa treatment on the beach sounds like my cup of tea! I will not fail to mention the exercise “SHIPSHAPE” center, group fitness classes, spinning, personal training, and morning beach walks with Well-ness Director SusanYunker, that are available to th ework-out-a- holic! Otherwise, settle into your slippers in the amenity lounges. Aromatherapy steam rooms and saunas, the covelike romanbaths, quiet rooms, private spa decks for sunning and plenty more will tame your tension and melt your muscle aches away! If there is another place in the tri-state area that blows this away please contact me because every guest who schedules time to pamper their lifestyle has not had the megaspa experience until they settle into their plush bathrobe at Gurney’s Inn.
Grab your spatini and get out here because Gurney’s is the place to chill out and unwind. It’s no wonder there is a nailpolish we all know called, MONTAUK THE END!
Now that I have critiqued our beauty entities on the eastend, let’s talk about something else on the same topic. A year-round destination spa such as Gurney’s could not be in business without you as our guest(naturally). It certainly could not run without our skilled trade licensed spa therapists and managers, most who have been on staff north of twenty years, atrait I firmly believe to be rare and special. Iwant to take this moment to commend the customer service, evening cleaning staff, spa porters and attendants worldwide, who cater to your needs but may not get the same credit as the “professionals” do. They are specialists in their profession andwork their asses off to accommodate the services offered to you efficiently, behind the scenes in a prompt and timely manner. With asmile ,they welcome your patience and you as their guest. Please be nice!
